May Hui, CMM

May Hui is one of two Asian Matchmakers at Two Asian Matchmakers. May loves to play poker. Let’s be honest, don’t all Asians gamble? To be a good poker player, one must always think ahead, be flexible, be able to read people, and know when to fold or go all in. Of course a little luck always helps. Asian Matchmaking operates in much the same way, which is why May is one of the greatest Asian matchmakers in Los Angeles.
A self-professed romantic, a characteristic in a lot of Asian matchmakers, May loves bringing people together by making introductions that often lead to long-term relationships. She graduated with a BA in Communication and Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she perfected her Cantonese, followed by 11 years working in the corporate world for a Fortune 500 company in Los Angeles.
As a successful, busy Asian professional in upper management, May saw first-hand how difficult it was to meet quality singles. She knew there had to be Asian matchmakers out there who can help her meet active, fit, successful Asians like herself who were ready to be in a committed relationship. May’s passion for helping Asian women find a great partner hatched Two Asian Matchmakers to match great women in a fun, safe, confidential, and hassle-free way. Her intuitive approach coupled with her personalized service gives her a success rate well above industry standards.
Aside from poker, May is often found at the movies, supporting charitable events, traveling around the world, taking photos, chatting up strangers, or hanging out with her boyfriend Phil and dog Ace. With a strong business background and understanding of Asian cultures, a genuine love of people, and high energy, it’s no wonder May chose Asian matchmaking as her winning hand.
Katie Chen
Co-Founder & Matchmaker
Katie Chen is a natural born networker and one of two Asian matchmakers at Two Asian Matchmakers. Her genuine interest in others combined with her sparkling personality grant her an audience everywhere she goes. No matter where she is, or who she is with, Katie has an inherent ability to connect people and that is what makes her a very successful Asian matchmaker.
Katie graduated from the University of California Los Angeles with a BA in Psychology and Economics. For the next 8 years, she worked for a 12 billion dollar privately held company where she focused on providing world class customer service and cultivating her expertise in personnel development and client relations.
Katie realized that what she most enjoyed about her work as an Asian matchmaker was bringing people together and seeing them relate well with one another. Katie was inspired to co-found Two Asian Matchmakers after her career took her from the South Bay communities of L.A. to the heavily Asian populated community in the San Gabriel Valley, where she saw a great need to represent and connect all singles looking to date Asian women.
Combining her education, innate ability as an Asian matchmaker, her background in customer service, and her polished skills for connecting people, Katie serves as a great partner to the Asian American dating community. She gives great Asian dating advice at speaking engagements and teleseminars, too.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys hiking in Santa Monica and Pasadena, bicycling at the beach, cooking old and new Asian recipes with friends, visiting Ramen noodle houses, dancing, music, volunteering, exploring new hot spots in Los Angeles with her boyfriend, and of course, networking!
